We invite you to join members of the local Watson community, past and present, in launching the 30th anniversary of the Watson School. At this informal gathering, we hope to connect the many threads of the Watson community that together have created a rich history of the school and shaped its future. To prepare for the year-long celebration, we invite your contribution to the archives. We will showcase some of these highlights during Homecoming Weekend and at special events throughout the year.

From the East Coast to the West Coast, Binghamton University faculty, students and alumni are discovering new technologies that have a broad impact on our lives – right now and in the future.
Join fellow alumni at the Hilton San Jose to learn first-hand how your alma mater is doing on the continuing road to discovery. At our event, you’ll find out about:
Binghamton University: President Harvey Stenger will share his vision and Road Map for making Binghamton the premier public university of the 21st century. An engineer by training (Cornell ’79, MIT ’83) and former dean of engineering and applied sciences at the University of Buffalo, President Stenger’s passion for education, research and discovery runs deep.
Research partnerships: Dr. Bahgat Sammakia, vice president of research, will discuss new developments in the fields of smart energy, small scale electronics and health care.
The Watson School: Dean Krishnaswami “Hari” Srihari will share the latest news, our growing alumni network, and what is planned for the 30th anniversary of the Watson School.
The event is free and includes hors d’oeuvres, coffee, tea and soft drinks, compliments of the Binghamton University Alumni Association and the Watson School. Cash bar. Bring a guest.

That’s why your Alumni Association is re-launching an alumni chapter in your area, and celebrating the re-launch with a special event. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online. Our group will be seated in rows 1 and 2 of section 368. Our game tickets are limited to the first 20 people. There will be a pre-game mixer, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Pratt Street Ale House (206 W. Pratt St.). Tickets must be picked up at that location no later than 7:30 p.m.

You are invited to meet your fellow alumni at Koto Japanese Steakhouse (district manager is Will Cheung ’99). Come sample fine wines and appetizers while networking with alumni who live and work in our region.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online. Our group will be seated in section 107. Our game tickets are limited to the first 40 people. There will be a pre-game mixer, starting at 5:30 p.m., at Half Street Fairgrounds (look for the Binghamton University signs and balloons). Tickets must be picked up at Half Street Fairgrounds before 6:30 p.m. The registration deadline is Tuesday, July 23. Sorry – no refunds will be issued.

The 2013 Alumni Golf Classic will be held Friday, Aug. 2, at Vestal Hills Country Club. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Shotgun start is at 12:30 p.m.
We look forward to welcoming our golfers, and we are sure you’ll enjoy a full day which includes 18 holes of golf on a beautiful course, as well as a fabulous lunch and dinner reception. Thanks to our very loyal supporters and new foursomes, this year’s event is sold out.
The Alumni Golf Classic is a summer tradition and supports the Alumni Association’s Legacy Scholarship Fund, which benefits current students who are relatives of Binghamton University graduates.

This will be a Binghamton University day at the ballpark – in more ways than one! The Chicago Chapter of your Alumni Association invites you to get together with other Binghamton University graduates at a pre-game mixer. Then, enjoy Major League Baseball action as the White Sox take on the Minnesota Twins. Scott Diamond, a 2011 graduate of Binghamton University (pictured above), plays for the Twins.
Tickets are just $20 each, and are located in Section 158, Rows 17 and 18 – see seating chart). Spouses and families are welcome to attend as well. Please register online by Friday, August 2. Tickets will be e-mailed to you. We’re sorry – no refunds can be issued after the registration deadline.

Enjoy a baseball game with other Binghamton University alumni who live in our area. We are offering a special ticket price of $15. Parking passes (a $4 value) will be given to the first six people who respond to this message!
Our group will be seated in Terrace boxes on the first base side, near Jackie Robinson Place. Each ticket includes a raffle card for a chance to win a special gift from the Bulls. Our group name will be displayed on the video board during group welcomes. You’ll have direct access to concessions with the Suite Menu. And, be sure to stick around after the game for fireworks.
