We invite you to join William “Bill” Voelkle ’61, Curator of Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts at the Morgan Library & Museum, who will give a tour of his current exhibition, The Crusader Bible: A Gothic Masterpiece. The spectacular Crusader Bible is one of the greatest illuminated manuscripts in the world, renowned as much for its unrivaled and boldly colored illustrations as it is for its fascinating history. The work brings Old Testament stories alive in bright images replete with medieval castles, towns, and battling knights in armor, all set in thirteenth-century France. Visit the exhibit website for full details.
Bill will meet all interested alumni at the public entrance to the Morgan Library at 3 p.m. for a personal tour of his exhibition and will provide entry buttons for all. After the tour, Bill will gather with alumni for coffee in the museum café to continue to conversation. The buttons will allow alumni to visit all exhibitions at The Morgan which will be open until 9 p.m.
This is a complimentary event. However, we ask that you please register online prior to Wednesday, Dec. 31 so we know to expect you. If you have any questions, contact the Alumni Relations office at 607-777-2424 or [email protected].
