The Alumni Association’s Greater Binghamton Chapter is excited to offer you a unique networking opportunity this winter. Ignite your network by meeting other alumni during an evening of conversation, food and drinks. This event will feature a one-hour speed networking activity. During this time, you will be able to connect with fellow graduates and share valuable insights about your profession, industry, company and personal interests.

6 p.m.: Registration/Check-in
6:30 – 7:30 p.m.: Speed Networking
7:30 p.m.: Dinner

The cost of the event is $20/person and includes a full buffet dinner. A cash bar will be available. You can join us just for dinner if you’d like. There is a limited amount of space for this event. Please register online prior to Friday, Jan. 22. We are unable to offer refunds after the registration deadline. Because you’re a graduate of Binghamton University, we know you are bright, curious and have an ongoing thirst for new knowledge. Our chapter offers a new program that can help quench your thirst for new insights, information and perspectives.

Joshua Ludzki, MBA ’13, co-creator and master of marketing for BingPop, a website that highlights events taking place within our local community, will be our featured speaker.

Join Fred Luskin ’76, director of the Stanford University Forgiveness Project, for a discussion on happiness and forgiveness and meet other alumni living in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We invite you to join us for an exciting opportunity to connect with Fred Luskin ’76, who serves as director of the Stanford University Forgiveness Projects and is Chair of the PsyD program at Sofia University. . He is a senior Fellow in Health Promotion at Stanford and teaches the schools Pursuit of Happiness classes.

Dr. Luskin will offer a brief lecture with simple guided practices on his research and perspectives regarding happiness and forgiveness. Afterward, you will have ample time to connect with other alumni, San Francisco Bay Area Chapter leaders, and to speak with Dr. Luskin personally.

The cost to attend this event is $20/person and includes appetizers, soft drinks, and wine. Please register online by Wednesday, Jan. 27. Refunds will not be granted after this date. Join Mark Weiser ’92, owner of Shake Rattle & Roll Pianos, as he performs in this Dueling Piano show. This will be an all-request rock-n-roll party featuring two of the top entertainers on the East Coast who play all your favorite signs from Billy Joel to Bon Jovi to Britney Spears. TIME OUT NY says, “Keyboard master Mark Weiser takes audience requests, mines his vast knowledge of catchy tunes and busts out singable tracks.”

Tickets are $15/person and must be purchased online by Wednesday, Jan. 27. Attendees must be at least 21 years of age and there is a two-item minimum purchase required during the show.

Enjoy conversation and cocktails with fellow alumni at a reception before the game, then cheer on our men’s basketball team in the company of other Binghamton fans. Don’t forget to wear green!

Appetizers will be sponsored by the Alumni Association. There will also be a cash bar.

There is no admission fee for the reception, but we ask that you please register online by Monday, February 22, so we know how many people to expect.

Game tickets will be available before the game through the UMBC box office for $10 for adults, and $7 for ages 6-12/seniors. General admission is free for children under 6.

Quench your thirst for new insights, information and perspectives by joining us as the new Thirsty (for Knowledge) Thursday series continues.

Diane Butler, director of the Binghamton University Art Museum, will be our featured speaker this month. Join us for lunch and learn how Diane and her team are engaging with professors and students in other disciplines to offer creative exhibitions and programs for visitors from the campus and community.

The cost to attend the luncheon is $15/person which includes a buffet lunch and parking pass. Kindly register online by February 22.

SnoCats NYC Okemo Day Trip

After a successful first trip last winter, the SnoCats NYC is partnering up with the Metro New York Chapter and sponsors Alpine Tailor and the Binghamton University Alumni Association to lead another ski trip up to Okemo.

The most common package (bus and lift ticket) is $97/person which is the same price as a lift ticket only from the mountain. New to skiing or snowboarding? The Rochester Chapter of the Binghamton University Alumni Association would like to invite you and your family to join us for an afternoon of bowling. This will be our first event bringing together alumni and their families.

The price of $15 per person includes 2 hours of play, shoes and ball rental (bumpers are available upon request).

Please join us on March 1st at Turnmill from 6-9pm for 2016’s first Binghamton University Korean Alumni Mixer.

This will be a networking event connecting Korean and Korean/American Binghamton Alumni who live in New York City bringing us together to firmly establish a consistent alumni community focused on building relationships and creating professional resources.

We plan on holding 4 events throughout the course of each year. Not only will this serve as a networking opportunity but will also serve as a platform to keep our community up to speed with the work and contributions from fellow alumni who are currently making an impact on the university, campus and student organizations.

Current updates for 2016 include:

• Construction of the Young Sam Kim Korean Cultural Center:
o This new center has been made possible by the generous contribution from Charles Kim ’98, a Korean, and will be located in a newly renovated space in the Old Dickinson residential community.

• Formulation of a Korean organization grant system:
o Through the effort of Korean alumni, we have established a grant system for Korean organizations on campus. For example, if the traditional Korean drum group needs new drum heads, they can make a grant request through the Center for Korean Studies, and upon approval can receive the proper funding to further their organizations.

• Korean Night 2016:
o The Center for Korean Studies and fellow Korean alumni have made a joint effort to help unify all the Korean organizations on campus to unite and collaborate on Korean Night together this year.

This event is complimentary event and we ask you to please register online by Monday, February 29 to let us know you are attending. This event is sponsored by the Binghamton University Alumni Association which will be providing an assortment of appetizers and a complimentary drink for each attendee. A cash bar will be available for additional drinks.
