Thirsty (For Knowledge) Thursday – Binghamton @ Alumni Center at Binghamton University

Because you’re a graduate of Binghamton University, we know you are bright, curious and have an ongoing thirst for new knowledge. The Greater Binghamton Chapter of your Alumni Association has a new program that can help to quench your thirst for new insights, information and perspectives.

We are proud to introduce the monthly series Thirsty (For Knowledge) Thursdays. Our goal is to, on a monthly basis, offer alumni the opportunity to hear from, and interact in small group settings with, dynamic University leaders and notable alumni who live in our community. Please join us for the inaugural event in this series, which will be held on campus in a few short weeks.

Revitalizing Johnson City with a new School of Pharmacy
Thursday, Nov. 12 from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Dr. Gloria Meredith, founding dean of Binghamton University’s new School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences will provide a progress report on the school’s new building in Johnson City, assembling her leadership team, and plans for the first entering class in 2017. You will also learn more about the University’s exciting plans for a healthcare campus near Wilson Hospital.

The cost for this event is $15/person and includes a buffet lunch. Please register online by Monday, Nov. 9. We’re sorry; refunds cannot be granted after the registration deadline.

And, please save the date for the second lunch in our series, which will be held at the Alumni Center on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016. Our featured speaker will be Joshua Ludzki, MBA ’13, co-creator and master of marketing for Bing Pop.

The amount of information collected about individuals, primarily online, is increasing exponentially. Each day people add totheir digital footprint through the use of computers, smartphones, tablets, payment systems, thermostats, automobiles and other internet-connected devices. The resulting data can be used for many purposes, including advertising delivery, analytics, market research, security, fraud detection and more.

So called “big data” can help drive the new digital economy, but are coupled with concerns about privacy and consumer control. An accomplished panel of alumni working in big data will share their perspectives on this hot topic.

First Annual Celebrating Graduate School of Education Research Forum – Binghamton

The Professional Education Graduate Organization (PEGO) and the Graduate School of Education at Binghamton University invites you to the 1st Annual Celebrating GSE Research Forum!

This special event will bring together GSE alumni, local administrators, teachers and students for an evening of networking and engagement centered on the many ways the Graduate School of Education works within the community to build partnerships and advance educational research.

Poster displays will transform the President’s Reception Room on the Binghamton University Campus to showcase the works of faculty, doctoral students and undergrad research scholars’ findings.
