TED (technology, entertainment, design) is a nonprofit organization devoted to the notion of ‘Ideas Worth Spreading.’ Started 25 years ago, TED has grown to support world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives including TEDx, a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience by hosting speakers of many disciplines together to give short talks.

Tickets can be purchased online for $6.50 through bingtickets.com Tickets will also be sold at the door for $10.

The cost of $5/person includes pre-game mixer (food and some drinks provided with cash bar) and game ticket. Please register online by Thursday, Feb. 28. And, please join the D.C. Metro Chapter on Facebook.

LACE has completed its fourth successful session, providing close to 100 Harpur undergraduates with the opportunity to shadow Harpur alumni. Current LACE volunteers are encouraged to bring a fellow Harpur alumnus or alumna guest.

LACE is an exciting program that provides Harpur College students the opportunity to explore career options and gain insight into the realities of the workplace. Selected students will be matched with professional alumni for a shadowing experience at the sponsor’s workplace. Alumni are able to make a significant difference in the lives of these talented undergraduates.

Be connected: Dr. Krishnaswami “Hari” Srihari, dean of the Watson School, will share the latest research at Watson, and what’s coming up next.

Keep informed: Dr. Kaustubh Nagarkar of GE Global Research will discuss current R&D initiatives, including Smart Energy and electronics design.
